Pop Shove It into digital oblivion                            Activision is removing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD from sale on Steam next week, according to an update on the game’s Steam community page. In news that’ll greatly upset the skate community, the game is being removed on July 17. Until then, the game is on sale for the reasonable sum of £1.39, an 80% reduction from its original £6.99. So if you were on the fence before, now’s the time to snap it up, I guess.No reason’s been given for the removal, but it’s possibly due to an expiring music license. It’s not the first time this has happened, with Alan Wake recently being delisted due to expired music rights (https://www.videogamer.com/news/alan-wake-being-removed-from-steam-and-xbox-store-next-monday).Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD was touted as taking the best elements of the Tony Hawk’s games and giving them an HD update. Combining Tony Hawk’s first two games into one package, it didn’t quite work out that well, and received mixed reviews over all platforms, and in our own review of the game. It didn’t help that Activision then added in the Revert ability from the third game as a paid DLC, which was seen as a slap in the face for fans of the title.Read More »
