News: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds full release delayed until the end of 2017

'We hope this makes sense, and appreciate your understanding.’                            In an update on the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Steam Community page, Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene has announced that the game’s full release has been pushed back from the original six month time frame and will now not be fully launched until the end of 2017, surely impacting the planned Xbox One release of the title.Whilst this news may disappoint some players of the smash-hit game, it is not surprising news. Greene is at pains to point out that if the game were to release within the original six month time frame, it ‘could hinder us from delivering a fully featured game and/or lead to disappointment within the community’. So the decision was made to delay the game in order to fix bugs, and polish the experience further.Greene wants to assure the community that this will not mean further delay and they ‘are still planning a full release before the end of Q4 2017’. This news won’t change the level of communication between the developer and the community with Greene saying, ‘We will continue to push weekly and monthly updates until full launch as we want to ensure that the game we release is the best version possible. This is why we’re giving a launch window rather than an exact date. We hope this makes sense, and appreciate your understanding.’Read More »
